Burwash Pottery is based in the East Sussex village of Burwash, the home of Rudyard Kipling, where I also run pottery classes which range from half a day to a few weeks. My studio is only an hour by train from London and easy access by car from Kent, Surrey & Sussex. A great way to learn pottery is my Introduction to Pottery workshop which is a one-day course and includes lunch.
All my pieces are individually made as I have combined my love of animals and working with clay to create my ceramic art. I also specialise in Raku Glazing which is a traditional Japanese method of glaze firing and is linked to their tea ceremonies and has been used for hundreds of years. I also make ceramic images of my beautiful pet pigs Olive and Rosie.
Over the last couple of years I have had commissions to make ceramic portraits of pet dogs, although I will do any animal. If you would like a ceramic figure of your favourite pet please contact me for a quote.
I also make ceramic hearts embossed with indian print blocks for sale exclusively through These Please Ltd
